people keep sending me mail, even when i remove them they still know my adress so they keep sending me mail. its not advertising, its people who send me weird things in different languages. so is there anyway to stop them from sending me mail? thanks :)

Reply:Yes, there is.. go to options in HOTMAIL %26gt;%26gt; Mail and junk email settings.. %26gt;%26gt; Junk e-mail filters and confirmation . From here choose %26gt;%26gt; Exclusive - Everything is sent to the junk e-mail folder except messages from your contacts and allowed senders.
Since those who are sending those mails to you will not be in your contact or safe or allowed list, their mails will be automatically send to junk mail.
CAUTION: This setting will put all mails to junk folder, if sender is not in contact or safe list.

What your Hotmail has changed to is Windows Live Mail. Basically they are changing all the names to Windows Live now - Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Mail the list goes on!
It isn't possible to restore back to the old MSN Hotmail but it is possible to make it the same type of layout, just different colours!
When you come up to the home screen after logging into your account (the page that says Mailbox usage: 1% or whatever) you will notice a box with a link in it saying "Switch to Classic" in the bottom left corner of the page. Clicking this will change the layout to a more simplar style and may even make Windows Live load faster on slower connections.

You might want to check you're settings in you're mail you might have them set to except new emails as spam mail only.. the emails might be going directly in to you're junk or bulk mail folder and be deleted.. also add there emails to you're friends list so that the account knows you except the mail.. you can do this by adding there email information in you're address book.. if all else fails make sure there sending it to the right address.. hope this helps

this is what i did i already had msn hotmail and i wanted to get a windows live hotmail...
so what you need to do is go to www.hotmail.com than sign in look at the page where it says at the top right msn (butterfly pic) hotmail in big letters under it there is a green long box and it says join windows live hotmail you click on that and it will open a page where it says upgrade to windows live hotmail so you upgrade it and you will have windows live hotmail without changing your account or anything
if you need any help,, or if you didn't find the green box so just add an additional details and i will edit my answer and help you

How do I fix my Hotmail link on the new MSN?
I have the new version of Windows Live Messenger. From that program you can click a link that goes to your Hotmail Inbox.
BUT, when I click it now, it opens to the old log-in site of Hotmail, asking me to sign in again every time i want to read my emails.
It doesn't do this on my other computer, only this one.
I also have MSNplus on this computer.

However, someone@microsoft.com doesn't work (I've got an account with that domain when there was a glitch with the sign up process), even though its a valid Windows Live ID. And FYI, live.com is a hotmail address. You can sign up for it at hotmail.com too.

Not really. They increase your capacity limit and unblock your account so you can use POP (Connect using Mail Clients such as outlook)

Gmail and others allow you to do all this for free, My personal advice would be to keep your money for the January sales =)

Free mcafee anti virus saves me 80 dollars a year and webroot spysweeper, a 49 dollar program, is also free, that alone covers the cost of upgrading and besides, many times, hotmail.com e-mail addresses are automatically marked as spam which is much less likely with the msn.com address. I would recommend the upgrade.

Have your old mail forwarded or use gmail to retrieve it directly from hotmail (look in the gmail help for directions). Gmail also has many other great features like super fast search, chat (google chat + aim), labels as opposed to folders, filters, etc. etc. etc.

They kept nickle and diming me for stuff, like extra storage, and once I no longer needed the extra storage, I cancelled that part of my account. For two years, yes TWO freaking years, they sent me bills in the mail and didn't allow me to access anything with my MSN Passport. I must have written half a dozen snail mail letters to them trying to explain what was going on.
The end result is that I have email contacts in there that I cannot get anywhere else, and they still have my account, but they won't let me access it.
I am sorry they have pulled a sh**** on you, too. The best I can offer is that you try calling customer support, though I think, from my previous experiences, that it's not a big priority for them.

Generally, they deactivate accounts which haven't been signed into for over 30 days. That may have happened to you.

select SAVE and store the setup programme on your computer , so you can use it in case you have to reinstall oen day
once downloaded..go to the .exe file and doubleclick

I have used Hotmail for over 10 years without problem but now the new Hotmail is ruining my life. I cannot get to my e-mails. I have not changed anything but I can get to my e-mail account but it askes for my e-mail address that I have already reached but will not accept the e-mail address and password- that it accepted to get me where I am. I know it is crazy but true. What has happened to MSN? They are the worst web pages, e-mail and anything that you want to use it for. IT SUCKS%26gt; HELP!!!!!

but if u have a different hotmail to me just leave it for 60 days and it will close or to completley remove messnger and eveything go to..

Close all browser windows.
Open a new browser window.

Heeey! I know from this plug-in of hotmail's messenger where you can see when someone opens a conversation with you, even if they don't write anything, and it also indicates when the person closes the conversation. step 2:click options which is in the top right corner then click more options...
step 3: at the bottom of the page right corner it says account click on that...
step 4: under additional options click close account...
step 5: enter your password to verify...
step 6: then click close Microsoft account...
then your account will be deleted if you wish to return back to it then you will need to reactivate it within 270 days...your msn account will also be deleted too once you delete the hotmail...

How can i search for an email address over hotmail or msn?

One thing you can try is to shut down your computer and restart it. If that doesn't work then shut down your computer and unplug your router, wait for 30 seconds and then plug the router back in wait until all the lights are green and then restart your computer.
