Doe's anyone know why Msn Hotmail is unavailable?

Tryed to log into my account, but it is unavailable.
Doe's anyone know why Msn Hotmail is unavailable?
I'm on the west Coast in canada and ive been trying to access it for the past 5 hours and I can't get it!


Must be doing an update, or the server is down! :(

Reply:Apparently Canada is down too. At least on the West Coast. So... although I don't know why hotmail is down, it seems to be widespread.


I have attempted to log in a few times and was presented with an "unfamiliar" log in page. I pulled up a second log in page and it appeared "normal". I ran a systems check to determine if perhaps there was a "spoof" page being presented and the system came back clear. So... maybe it's some new cosmetic changes, perhaps it is something more serious, but whatever the issue is... Hotmail is down.

We've been down for hours. Only Hotmail.

Reply:You should have expressed what the error code was; we cannot help you with unsufficient information you provided...
Reply:It has been down all day in Norway too.. It would not have been taken offline unless there was a big security breech - like a virus spread too many (unknown servers) That is why every server is taken offline and deleted and reinstalled. This takes some time, sine email backups from earlier safe times must be moved.

But it is down now. I'm in the UK.

The other day, it was on the News that the Pakistani government shut down hotmail in their country due to anti-islamic material and it shut everyone down for 2 hours. Maybe, they've done it again? You'd have thought Microsoft could isolate theirs and let the rest of us get on with getting ours?

Reply:Just read my emails. No prob with mine. I'm on the East coast...maybe it's only in certain areas....if it's about 9 a.m. where you are, maybe it's because businesses are just beginning to access and send emails. Probably just an overload....
