If I receive an email on MSN Hotmail which IP is the persons sending the email?

Are we talking about web mail or email downloaded via pop3 to your email client?

When you open an email on the MSN hotmail, typically the sender won't be able to know what ip address is being used.

Unless he embeds a web-bug (but even then typically it will be filtered out by not loading remotely linked objects, but let's assume it is not).

In such a case, if it's pop3 download mail, it will be your ip that is transmitted. In the case of webmail, I believe it is the same.
