Why wont MSN windows live/hotmail work with Firefox?

I always have to open a tab in IE to check emails or do anything with my windows live/hotmail account. I cant find the answer on mozzila anywhere.

you cannot delete an account and keep the ID.. the ID is related to the account, so if you close it you cannot use it with MSn anymore.... in this case close the account an get a new one..

Strangers keep adding me to their MSN hotmail account, why?

I only log into my account every once a week or so and every time I do, I find loads of people have added me! How/why are they doing this? I’m pretty sure my email address isn’t plastered all over the net for people to randomly add me.

I wouldn’t mind so much, but half of them seem to be kids. I’m thirty and at work I suddenly fourteen year olds claiming “I added them!”

Some people just randomly add names and guess and others add them from emails forwarded or anything. My neices have competitions to see who has the most people on a list and gave my details out to all their friends to get names in return. There is a privacy option under tools, options, then privacy, put a tick in "only people on my allow list can see my status and send me messages" you can also take the tick out of "alert me when other people add me to their contact list" then people will not be able to see your online status unless you personally add them and it will also stop the annoying pop ups asking you to add.

Yes, go sign in to your old account, then click contacts, save instant messaging contacts, choose a name and a place you will remember.Now sign into your new account %26gt; Contacts %26gt; Import instant messaging contacts %26gt; find the file and there you go. (Sometime it doesnt work and It might take a few minutes to add them all but keep trying)

Reply:Well if you have your password that gets you into your account, to the right there's a small button that says 'options'. Click on that and in that section there is a place to make a new password. Good luck! :)

As far as I know you can't do that because Hotmail is web based, however there may be some program that can do that automatically.

Another option is to create an account in Outlook Express (a better email client is Mozilla Thunderbird (free, mozilla.com) and when it asks for your full email address enter your Hotmail account's address (but use your ISPs settings for the incoming and outgoing mail settings). It won't show up in you Hotmail sent folder and if someone who receives this email tries hard enough they can tell that this wasn't sent from your Hotmail account, but in the from field it will show your Hotmail address and if they reply it will go to you Hotmail account.

Just like the question says. I am NOT concerned with how to stop it from starting when I log on to my computer. I KNOW how to do that. I want to PREVENT it from starting automatically WHEN I LOG IN TO HOTMAIL!!!!

Reply:OK go to your your name thing then click on the down arrow go to personal settings (should be last item) then on the left hand side click general and then the third one down say automatically sign in when connected to Internet and un-check that and there you go!

many people are having trouble signing in to msn and hotmail these days.. just check if you have some kind of virus, (scan your pc) if you are running a p2p (emule, ares) ,maybe these occupy a lo of bandwidth .. (in this case, slow down the p2p and restart the router) ..

Try clearing your cache

Firefox- click - Tools, Clear private data, check what you want deleted and click clear data now.

IE- Tools - Internet Options - look in the middle where it says delete browsing history and click it then click delete all.

If it doesn't work then reset you password.

Yeah right! Personally I find very little to believe in someone who changes passwords and security passwords and then suddenly and conveniently forget them within 24 hours. Are you stupid enough to think we're that stupid?

If you can't remember the security question and answer I'm affraid your stuck. Create a new account

There are one or two sites that allow you to view who has blocked you, however a lot of these are scams and seeing as the ones you've tried didn't work you should watch out for any strange behaviour in your messenger account and report it to the link below. Furthermore none of these sites have been approved by Microsoft to be suitable for messenger so it just isn't worth the risk.

Reply:Live and hotmail are pretty much the same mail provider (well hotmail.com takes you to windows live hotmail so I guess they are the same). Anyways, yes you can sign up for Windows Live Messenger with a %26lt;name%26gt;@live.com address.
